At Milodina, each light fixture is custom-made by our master glassmakers in Murano. Whether you are an individual, an architect, an interior designer, or a specifier, we support you at every stage to design the chandelier, wall light, ceiling light, table lamp, or floor lamp that will enhance your interior.
Good to know: most of our light fixtures can be made to measure, at no extra cost.
An almost endless choice of customization
To help you imagine the many possibilities offered by Murano glass, here are the main elements to consider:
The style of the light fixture
Classic chandelier with arms, contemporary pendant light, minimalist wall sconce or sculptural lamp… Style is the first step in your project. It reflects the identity of your interior and the desired atmosphere.
The color of the glass
Murano glass is renowned for its transparency, brilliance, and rich color palette. Together, we'll define the colors that best reflect your desires and décor. Monochrome or polychrome, anything is possible.
The placement of colors
A light fixture can combine several shades: red and white, amber and transparent, blue and gold… Together, we determine the precise distribution of colors on the different parts of the light fixture.
Adding a lampshade (or not)
Do you prefer a bare light fixture or one with a lampshade? If you choose one, we will guide you through the following options:
-
-
Shape : conical, cylindrical, square…
-
Finish : smooth, pleated, with or without bias binding
-
Interior and exterior colors
-
For brighter lighting, opt for a white interior. For a more subdued atmosphere: amber, ecru, or gold will be perfect.
Tassels: with or without?
If the basic model includes tassels, you can choose to add more, reduce their number… or not add any at all. Each element is adjustable.
The glass finish
Each piece of glass can have a different finish:
-
-
Transparent or opaque
-
Smooth, ribbed, or bouncy effect
-
Together we select the texture best suited to your project.
The ideal dimensions for your room
For a harmonious result, here are some guidelines:
| Room surface area | Number of lights | Recommended diameter |
|---|---|---|
| Approximately 10 m² | 3 to 5 lights | Ø 50 to 60 cm |
| Approximately 20 m² | 6 lights | Ø 70 to 80 cm |
| Approximately 30 m² | 8 lights | Ø 90 to 100 cm |
The height of the light fixture will be determined according to:
-
Ceiling height
-
The presence or absence of a central element (table, island, living room…)
-
Whether it is a place for passing through or for relaxation
