The Musée des Arts Décoratifs Celebrates One Hundred Years of Art Deco
2025 marks a significant event for the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (MAD) in Paris, which is celebrating the centenary of the Art Deco movement with a major exhibition entitled "1925-2025. One Hundred Years of Art Deco" .
At the heart of the exhibition, visitors will discover an exceptional project that captures everyone's attention with three full-scale models of the future Orient Express carriages , presented as a preview under the museum's nave. This striking dialogue between heritage and modernity traces a century of French creativity and elegance.
The Return of a Luxury Myth: The Orient Express
An absolute symbol of travel, refinement and adventure, the Orient Express is about to be reborn in its reinterpreted version.
This legendary train, designed in 1883 by Georges Nagelmackers, connected Paris to Istanbul via Venice. It still embodies the spirit of French luxury today.
Under the impetus of the Accor group , this exceptional rebirth brings together the greatest talents: architect Maxime d'Angeac , a specialist in the Italian Renaissance, and more than thirty excellent master craftsmen are gathered around this extraordinary project.
The 17 historic carriages, discovered in Poland in 2015, are being restored in a spirit of opulence and modernity, rekindling the splendor of travel from yesteryear.

Milodina, Partner in Onboard Refinement
It is in this prestigious context that MILODINA has the honor of participating in the renewal of the bar car of the new Orient Express.
The French company MILODINA, ambassador of Murano glass , designed and produced the glass wall sconces that adorn this emblematic space under the direction of the talented sculptor Etienne Rayssac.
Each piece is hand-crafted by our master glassmakers according to a custom design and conception.
Murano glass, renowned for its unique transparency and its incomparable reflections , brings a warm and timeless atmosphere to the whole, true to the Art Deco elegance of the train.

Between Tradition and Modernity
Behind the scenes, in close collaboration with Etienne Rayssac and Rinck House , MILODINA was guided by an absolute requirement: to combine the authenticity of glassmaking know-how with the technical constraints of a contemporary project .
The wall sconces designed for the bar car reflect this dialogue:
a soft and diffused light , sculptural yet fluid forms, and a finish conceived as a tribute to the beauty of artisanal craftsmanship.

A Tribute to Art Deco and Travel
This collaboration between Milodina and the Orient Express illustrates the continuity of a heritage: that of French luxury , European know-how , and artisanal transmission .
Through this contribution to the bar car, MILODINA creates a work where Murano glass becomes much more than a material, a symbol of light, emotion and memory.
The MAD exhibition: an experience not to be missed
The exhibition " 1925-2025. One hundred years of Art Deco " opened its doors on October 22, 2025 at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris .
A unique opportunity to discover more than 1,000 exceptional pieces, furniture, jewelry, art objects and to admire the models of the future Orient Express , before its grand return to the rails scheduled for 2027 .
Milodina, between light and heritage
For nearly 10 years, MILODINA has perpetuated the link between Venetian craftsmanship and contemporary French design , through unique and custom creations: lighting, mirrors, decorative objects, table tops, jewelry... The possibilities are almost endless.
Participation in the Orient Express project is a natural fit with this pursuit of excellence, where each piece celebrates the beauty of Murano glass and the richness of artistic heritage .
